VPS Band Students to Participate in 2025 Band Immersion Day

Following the fantastic success of last year's event, students from VPS will once again take part in Band Immersion Day - a wonderful opportunity to rehearse and perform alongside students from other local primary schools and the outstanding Rose Bay Secondary College (RBSC) band.

The RBSC bands are renowned for their high standards, having been recognised at prestigious events such as the NSW Band Festival, the Sydney Eisteddfod, and through their excellent HSC Music results. Their Music Ensemble Program (MEP) bands have been proudly featured in youth and community events including Festivilion, Bondi BLYMP, Carols by the Bay, and the City to Surf Youth Stage. Throughout the year, they perform regularly at school assemblies, Rose Bay Rocks, mid-year and end-of-year concerts, and soirees.

Participation in these musical experiences and immersion days, fosters valuable life skills such as teamwork, dedication, and discipline, all of which support students’ personal and academic growth.

Directed by Mr. Murray Jackson, RBSC Musical Ensembles Primary Director and supported by Ms. Maria Alonzo, Head Teacher CAPA (Creative and performing arts), the students will rehearse band repertoire with RBSC students and take part in a short physical activity designed to encourage social interaction and movement.

At the conclusion of the event, parents will have the opportunity to enjoy a short performance showcasing the day's collaborative efforts.
