Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Project (SAKGP)
On August 5, a small group of parents and Mr Nethery met to discuss whether we should apply for the grant to run the SAKGP at Vaucluse. It's a very exciting scheme but a big undertaking to apply: we will have to prove, as a community, we are committed to both funding and supporting the project with volunteer help. Yet having seen how wonderful the outcomes are for schools that have jumped on board, it was decided to give it a red hot go. If you are interested in being part of the committee—anyone is welcome, and you don't have to be a parent of the school—please call Ingrid on 0412 789 143. Also we will be keeping a central registry of ideas. Please send any suggestions for fundraising, leads for donations of cash and/or supplies and names and numbers of people who would be interested in volunteering either in the garden, the kitchen, or chasing donations to deborah.grunfeld@pacificmags.com.au. Any offers, no matter how small or big, gratefully accepted!
